Web Development Services:
What Can We Do for You?
Web-specific Design:
Designing for the web is unique to any other medium. For starters, websites grow, we don’t know of any print medium that has pulled off that trick yet! Designs for the web, therefore, must anticipate this growth and handle it gracefully.
Content Management Systems:
A content management system allows you to manage the content of your website (appropriate name, eh?). In this case, we provide the design, and using a secure web-based interface you can edit text, upload pictures, and generally keep your website up to date on your own schedule without paying your developer for every little text change. (It’s okay, we understand.)
Payment Systems:
Adding the ability to pay for services or products directly from your website adds convenience, credibility, and draw. From a simple Donate Button through PayPal, to secure credit card forms built into your site, to full e-commerce shopping cart solutions- we can make it happen (for a good price too!).
E-Commerce:
We have no interest in re-inventing the wheel. We install, configure, and design for existing e-commerce solutions. Configuration of an e-commerce store beyond its default settings requires time and understanding (or a whole lot of trial-and-error!). We have experience with and affection for Magento and OSCommerce. As for design, this is a great example of designing within the constraints of a system. One must design not only for general web constraints, but also for the system itself, understanding how it functions and grows.
Online Invoicing Tools: Send invoices via email containing a link for online payment.
Inventory Listing Systems:
The two best examples of this type of system are Real Estate / Property Management & Car Dealerships. Different than a shopping cart solution which lists a quantity-based inventory of a standard list of products, this type of system allows you to list individual instances of a single type of product (like houses, & cars!). A web-based interface allows you to add/edit/remove inventory, load multiple pictures per listing. Listings are also searchable based on any standardized criteria (Year, Make, Model, Color). These systems can be coupled with existing or custom Payment Systems to create a truly powerful tool.
SEO / SEF:
“Search Engine Optimized” and “Search Engine Friendly” sites are designed with a second audience in mind. Not only will your site have human visitors, hundreds of thousands of “spiders” roam the web- scanning, searching, indexing (and spamming). There are good spiders, like the Google indexing bots, responsible for your ranking in Google searches. There are bad spiders, “spambots” that run around collecting email addresses adding them to spam lists. Obviously, your site wants to be friendly to Google, and protected from spambots. Just like Subaru’s all-wheel-drive, this is included on every single site we build.
Custom Database Systems:
When an E-commerce store, or an Inventory Listing system does not quite fit what you need, we are happy to custom-design and create a system that fits your exact needs. A common example of this is a Class Registration System that collects the specific data you require from your user, stores everything in a database so we can create any number of customized reports for you. These are commonly integrated with Payment Systems.
User-Restricted Areas: This allows you to restrict access to a certain area of your site. Great for “Members Only” areas, and Online Invoicing web-payment interfaces allowing customers to look up their invoices online.
Electronic Forms:
Ever thought of going paperless? Maybe your clients have terrible handwriting. Either way you just want to allow them to fill out a form electronically. One option is a form built into a webpage that inserts the information into a database which you can pull reports from as data accumulates. This type of system is great for survey-type forms. The other mainstream option is a “rights-enabled” PDF document. The best example of this technique is IRS tax forms- you download the file, open it on your computer, and type in all the information- easy as pie. Once filled out you can Save, Print, or Email the completed form.
